Even with the new law, are student loans tricky?

With an election year right around the corner, Congress has legislated changes effective Oct. 1 in the federal student loan programs. President Bush has agreed to sign off on them, despite his initial opposition.
The legislation resulted after widespread outrage over alleged predatory practices by student lenders. Many lenders also admitted paying for cozy relationships with university administrators so they’d steer student business their way.
